Gainwell Technologies (GWT) manages pharmacy benefits for all Mississippi Medicaid health plans, including Magnolia Health. For any pharmacy-related issues or questions, call GWT's Member Services Help Desk at 800-844-3222.
Magnolia Health covers certain prescription drugs and over-the-counter drugs when prescribed by a Mississippi Medicaid provider and filled by a Mississippi Medicaid pharmacy. The pharmacy program does not cover all drugs. Some require prior authorization. Some drugs have limitations on age, dosage or maximum quantities. These limits make sure your medicines are safe and effective.
The Mississippi Medicaid Preferred Drug List (PDL) is a list of preferred and non-preferred drugs Mississippi Medicaid members can use, if prescribed. All Mississippi Medicaid health plans, including Magnolia Health, follow this PDL. Non-preferred drugs on this list require prior authorization. There are other drugs Medicaid covers which do not appear on the PDL.
You can view the Preferred Drug List (PDL) (PDF) online. The Division of Medicaid reviews current, as well as all new medications that can be added or changed from the PDL. For the most current PDL, you may call member services at 866-912-6285 (Relay 711).
You can have your prescriptions filled at a Mississippi Medicaid pharmacy. At the pharmacy, you will need to give the pharmacist your prescription and your Magnolia Health Member ID Card.
To find a Mississippi Medicaid pharmacy, you can use the Mississippi Medicaid Search Provider option on the Member website at https://portal.ms-medicaid-mesa.com/ms/member. After selecting Find a Doctor/Dentist on the Member portal, you will need to enter your Zip Code, your City and State, or your County and State. Under the Select Provider Criteria section, change the Provider Type to Pharmacy and select the Search Provider button at the bottom of the panel. Only Mississippi Medicaid pharmacies are listed.
